Revised 06/10/2011
Executive
Board
Mike
Lawless , President, DNR Grant Sponsor and Operations Manager - Business, active
member:
Mike
and his wife, Chris, are the owners of Superior Hardware here in Grand Marais.
Mike, a former farmer, has been active with various boards and agricultural
programs....
Steve
Bell, Vice President - Business, active member:
Steve
and his brother, Dave, and Dave's wife, Dianna, own and operate the Bayshore
Market and gas station here in town. Steve was instrumental in getting the grooming
program started back in the early 90's and functioned as a groomer operator,
coordinator and every other aspect of the program back then. He now coordinates
the trail maintenance planning in the fall and helps make decisions to keep
the program operating smoothly!
Kay
Wampler, Secretary/Treasurer - Individual, active member:
Kay
was Township Clerk when the DNR Trail Program was in it's infancy and the Grand
Marais program was run by the township with one groomer and one trail (#8).
After several years away from the program, she came back to handle payroll in
the 2001-2002 season. Since then she has taken on responsibility for the
accounting, DNR reporting functions and secretarial duties, as well as, grooming
trails at night! Kay returned to public service in 2006 and is once again
the Township Clerk.
Mikki
Geiger, Trustee - Individual, active member:
Mikki
has been active with the program scheduling drivers, cleaning groomers, and,
most recently, collecting donations and money for shirt/hat sales. Mikki has
agreed to continue doing the scheduling.
Tammy,
Delu', Trustee - Individual, active member/Driver:
Tammy
joined Sno-Trails in December 2010 as a driver. Tammy owns Shakti Healing Arts
in Grand Marais...... She is assisting Mikki in clean-up at the barn and preparing
the groomers.
In conjunction with those mentioned above, the drivers/operators have a big responsibility to make the program a success. We have them to thank for the great trails! Without their dedication, hard work, and lonely hours in the dead of night, the trails would be a real mess!
