Zero Tolerance I say, till I'm done for the day!
"Why
Zero Tolerance?
It's
the Law!
Did you know that drinking only half a beer would more than likely put you over the legally intoxicated limit. In Michigan, you are considered over the legal limit if your blood alcohol content exceeds 0.08. For most of us, that means that drinking one beer before we get back on the sled and hit the trail is illegal!
The
Consequences
OUIL/OUID/UBAC
First
Offense:
What It Will Cost?
For your first offense you will be fined up to $500. It will cost $125 to have your driving privileges reinstated. Attorney fees could be as much as $2,000. Your vehicle insurance will be voided or not renewed, forcing you into the high-risk pool of insurance companies. These insurance companies generally charge three-times the normal insurance for less coverage."

Sno-Trails adopts a new Zero Tolerance Policy
The Board of the Grand Marais Sno-Trails Association takes the Pledge one step further. All groomer operators are required to sign our Zero Tolerance Policy acknowledging their commitment to Zero Tolerance and agreement to refrain from the use of alchohol and other controlled substances within eight hours of reporting for duty, while on duty, while on property owned by Sno-Trails,or while operating a vehicle owned or leased by Sno-Trails. In addition, Sno-Trails respects the operators choices outside of their duties and makes a commitment to take whatever disciplinary action or intervention deemed appropriate in the event that use of alchohol does not comply with the Zero Tolerance Policy.
In other words, we do what we can to help improve safety on our trails, for our operators, and for visitors riding our trail system to the best of our ability.
